Mental Illness Awareness Week kicks off October 4. Wondering why you should take part? According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year and 1 in 6 U.S. youth ages 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year. It affects all races and genders. Because RUSD students and families are not exempt from this struggle, the District is doing everything possible to help those in need of support not only during this Awareness week, but all year round.
