Retailers Already Rolling Out Halloween, Christmas Decorations

RACINE, WI — It's Aug. 21, and 71 days until Halloween, and 126 days until Christmas.

Over the years, holiday sprawl in retail has started earlier and earlier. But September seems to be a bit much. And August? Well ... some people just don't want to go there.

Recently, a TV news crew visited Milaeger's in Racine to take a look. What they found was that the artificial Christmas trees are up in the showroom, and the Halloween goods are beginning to populate the shelves.

"Right now, we are in full bloom for Halloween because people are already looking," said Kris Reisdorf, owner of Milaeger's in a WTMJ-4 report. "We do Christmas year-round in many aspects," said Reisdorf.
