Roma Lodge Taking Over Pancake Day

Pancake Day has been a Racine springtime tradition for more than six decades. Learn more about what's next for the spring festival.

RACINE, WI -- Pancake Day, Racine's annual springtime tradition for the last 64 years isn't going away - nor is it moving - but it is under new stewardship starting next year.

According to a report from the Racine Journal Times, Roma Lodge has stepped in to carry on what had been known as Kiwanis Pancake Day.

The newspaper reported that the local Kiwanis chapter voted to disband by the end of 2018, leaving the chapter's notable fundraiser and tradition in the hands of 14 potential suitors. Roma Lodge was named the best of the bunch, and was chosen as Pancake Day's new champion.
