School To Host Color Run

The students of Racine Alternative Learning will host the inaugural community-wide My School Color Run.

RACINE, WI — The students of Racine Alternative Learning will host the inaugural community wide My School Color Run on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. to raise money for their school.

Funds raised will go towards classroom materials, student field trip opportunities, and a student scholarship, organizers say.

The My School Color Run is an untimed 2-mile fun run for all ages and fitness abilities. Along the route, participants pass through color zones, making it a “colorful experience.” Each pre-registered participant is provided with a single powder color packet that will be thrown in the air at the final color celebration at the finish line.

“Rather than sell goods, we want to engage the entire student body in a fitness initiative that aims to
encourage a life-long healthy way of living,” organizer Adam Beyer said. Participants that register by Thursday, May 3rd will receive a t-shirt, race bib, and individual color packet.

People wishing to participate can sign up for the run by visiting events.myschoolcolor.com and searching for your event.
