'Sister Act' To Open At Racine Theatre Guild

Performances take place Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19 and Saturday, May 26.

RACINE, WI – The musical comedy “Sister Act” - based on the hit film - will open at the Racine Theatre Guild and run from Friday, May 11 through Sunday, May 27.

Performances take place Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19 and Saturday, May 26 will also have a 2 p.m. show. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors(62+), and $15 for students (21 and under). There will also be two additional performances onSunday, May 20 and Thursday, May 24 at 7 p.m. for a discounted rate. Further savings are offered to groups of 12 or more.

Plot Synopsis From The Racine Theatre Guild:

Deloris Van Cartier goes from a sultry lounge singer to becoming Sister Mary Clarence and singing with the nuns in a grooving church choir in “Sister Act.” Forced to hide out in a convent, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she rediscovers her own. Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing, and a truly moving story, it will leave audiences breathless.

Directed by Douglas Instenes, Jasmine Ridgell will portray Deloris Van Cartier as she tries to connect with her sisters, Mother Superior (Robbyn Wilks), Sister Mary Lazarus (Dawn Van Ess), Sister Mary Roberts (Waverly McCollum), Sister Mary Patrick (Anne Mollerskov), Sister Mary Martin (Betty Petersen), and Sister Mary Theresa (Karen Magee). Curtis (Bob Benson) and his cronies (Patrick Schneider, Malcolm Jae O’Shea, Paul Marquez) will try to give her trouble, but not if Eddie (Norgie Metzinger), the cop, can help it.

The chorus of nuns, nightclub characters, and other featured in the cast are Kerra Allen, Madeleine Anderlik, Erin Barnlund, Laura Cuthbertson, Jessica Kathryn Cwik, Kimberly Gibson, Leshel Gotberg, Ellie Hammond, Bernie Hoff, Jennifer Larsen, Carri Prange, Lori Stefanski, Taylor Anne Stefanski, Rebecca Weaver, Jenna Zeihen, Peter Jones, Juliana Garcia- Malacara, Chazmire Carothers, Anthony Lazalde, Mark Geisler, Alex Benitez, and Dedrick Woods. The show is supported by a massive crew of costumers, set builders, technicians, and production members.
