Special Olympics Night Run Coming to UW-Parkside

KENOSHA COUNTY , WI — For the third year in a row, Run with the Cops for Special Olympics Wisconsin is coming to UW-Parkside. This fun night run allows for participants to illuminate the course with their flashing and glow items.

Law enforcement vehicles will also be there to help light up the course with flashing blue and red lights. There will be a Kid’s Dash starting at 8:30 p.m. followed by a 5k Run/Walk at 9:00 p.m. Throughout the night, law enforcement will have emergency vehicles to tour, police equipment to look at and a mock jail to take some fun photos.

Members of the Racine County Sheriff, UW Parkside Campus Police, Kenosha PD, Caledonia PD and the Law Enforcement Torch Run ® have organized this event to unite the community and raise funds for Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes.

“This is an amazing course where runners and walkers of all abilities can join since it is a one mile loop. Participants will cross the finish line “glowing” from head to toe with glow necklaces, bracelets and more!” said Special Olympics

Wisconsin’s Regional Director of Development, Brittany Neukirchen. Participants need only fundraise $25 to participate in this unique event. Each runner/walker will receive a goodie bag and T-shirt. Special Olympics Wisconsin is proud to partner with Dunkin Donuts, Kwik Trip, University of Wisconsin Parkside Police, and Jimmy Johns to make this a special night.
