Sturtevant Girls Fast Pitch Softball Takes the Field
Over 40 girls are expected at Firemen's Park on July 9 for an all-star game and fun skill contests.

Girl power will be in full effect this weekend during the Pinto level fast pitch softball All-Star Game at Firemen's Park in Sturtevant. Girls age eight to 11 make up the Pinto level.
About 40 girls from all over Racine County are expected to take the field and participate in contests like longest hit and fastest pitch before the 6 pm game.
Teams from Sturtevant, Caledonia, Union Grove, Yorkville, Raymond and Wind Lake voted for their best players to fill two teams to play each other in the All-Star Game. In total, 20 girls are expected to round out each team. Since 10 players take the field to play defense, each girl will get three innings each in the field and at bat.

"You’ll have girls who have played against one another all year now be on the same team, just like Major League Baseball," said Sean Waiss of Sturtevant Youth Baseball.
Coaches from the teams with the best standings are the head coaches with other coaches filling in as assistants.
