Suspected Murderer Found In Racine Hotel

Police found the suspect and a woman in a hotel room along with heroin, cocaine, marijuana and the materials to distribute the drugs.

RACINE, WI — Agents from the Racine County Metro Drug Unit found Farid Rakin, who was wanted in relation to a homicide investigation, in a hotel room in Racine Wednesday based on information they were provided according to a press release.

Rakin, 49, had a warrant for his arrest due to suspicion of first degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm from an incident earlier this summer in Waukegan, Ill.

Rakin was found in the hotel room with Nicole Maise, 27, of Kenosha, whom police dropped charges for the Waukegan murder after shifting the charge to Rakin.

In the hotel room, police found 5.5 grams of heroin, 137.8 grams of cocaine, 3.6 grams of marijuana, perscription medications, U.S. currency, cell phones, a quest card, drug packaging materials and digital scales, the press release says.

Rakin is being charged with a warrant for first degree murder, warrant for aggravated battery with a firearm, possession of heroin with intent to deliver, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, repeat drug offender and for being a keeper of a drug place.

Maise is being charged with being party to possession of heroin with intent to deliver, party to possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and keeper of a drug place.

Both Rakin and Maise are being held at the Racine County Jail.
