Teacher Charged With Having Sexual Relationship With Student

A Burlington man who formerly taught at Kenosha Tremper High School is accused of having sex multiple times with a 16-year-old student.

BURLINGTON, WI — A Burlington man who formerly taught at Kenosha Tremper High School has been charged after authorities say he had a sexual relationship with a student.

Douglas A. Richmond of Burlington has been arrested and charged with Sesual Assault of a Child and faces up to three years behind bars if he is convicted.

According to his criminal complaint, the victim told authorities she had sexual intercourse with Richmond numerous times, and at least one of those times was at the residence of Richmond's mother in Racine County.

According to police, the high school student told authorities that she first met Richmond at the Park and Ride off Highway 11 in Racine County where he had kissed her for the first time.

According to reports, the 16-year-old student said she met Richmond when he was her high school teacher in the 2009 to 2010 school year.

According to his complaint, he said they were supposed to have met at a location in Kenosha that day, but Richmond had told her that he did not want to meet in Kenosha because people may see them and "get the wrong idea."
