McKinley Middle School To Reopen Friday Following Threat

Additional security personnel will be on-hand Friday the day after an apparent threat caused the closure of McKinley Middle School Thursday.

RACINE, WI — Classes will resume Friday at Racine's McKinley middle school and extra security personnel will be on-site the day after an apparent threat to the school population was reported, district officials say.

News came across from the Racine Unified School District early Thursday morning canceled all classes and after school activities at McKinley middle school. School district officials told Patch.com that the district and authorities were investigating and an apparent threat. It appeared that the nature of the threat and the school closing were related, and indicated an apparent threat that needed to be investigated.

On Thursday afternoon, district officials told Patch.com that Racine police investigated the incident and found "no evidence to support the credibility of the threat."
