Three PEEPS Recipes to try this Easter
When Wisconsin Patch asked around for Easter Peeps recipes, the folks at Meijer came up with 3 good ones worth sharing:
WISCONSIN -- Marshmallow Peeps are just one sweet treat children - and some adults - partake in during the Easter holiday. Every seasonal tradition can use a twist, no matter your feelings for the marshmallow treat.
Wisconsin Patch partnered with Meijer to share a few ways you can take those sugar-coated treats and make them anew for 2019.
Peeps S’mores Skillet: Fill a 6-inch cast iron skillet with a layer of white chocolate chips followed by a layer of dark chocolate chips. Now, top the chocolate layers with your favorite Easter Peeps Bunnies or Chicks. Bake at 400 degrees for five to seven minutes, and let the skillet sit for 5 minutes after removing from the oven. Gather your ‘peeps’ in the kitchen and dig in using graham crackers to scoop up the gooey treat!

Chocolate Covered Peeps: Start by covering a baking sheet with wax paper and inserting wooden skewers into the Peeps of your choice. Next, measure out one cup of chocolate chips and microwave them, stirring every 20 seconds until the chocolate is smooth and melted. Dip each marshmallow treat into the melted chocolate until each is wrapped in chocolate. Place on to the baking sheet and decorate your bunny however you would like: use a marshmallow to add a bunny tail or some sprinkles to add color. When your decorating is complete, refrigerate for about 5 minutes before you bite in.
Peeps Crispy Rice Treats: Melt a 3-ounce pack of PEEPS® and a tablespoon of butter in the microwave. Stir the warm Peeps and butter together before slowly adding a cup and a half of crispy rice cereal to the mixture until the cereal is coated. Press the crispy rice and peep mixture into a loaf pan lined with foil and give it time to set.
