Town Hall Takes On Vos, State Republican 'Power Grab'

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — Residents will gather at a Town Hall meeting Saturday in Mt. Pleasant to voice concerns with Speaker Robin Vos, who represents the district, and deliver petitions to .

This week, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and State Sen. Leader Scott Fitzgerald called Wisconsin state legislators to the Capitol for an extraordinary session. Critics of the move say that the GOP went too far in grabbing power while the party still had control over the Governor's office, Assembly and Senate.

Town Hall attendees will learn more about what passed through the legislature and have the opportunity to submit their public comments. Residents will then take to the streets of the district to talk to Robin Vos' constituents about his actions and continue collecting comments to deliver to his office.

Speakers will include Second District Racine County Supervisor Fabi Maldonado of the Wisconsin Working Families Party, Racine Educators United President Angelina Cruz of the Racine Education Association, and Rep. Neubauer.
