RACINE COUNTY, WI — Two longtime employees of the Andis Company are accused in federal court of stealing more than $500,000 in clippers from the Racine-area barber products manufacturer.
According to a Journal Sentinel report, Bettye R. Kidd, 56, Racine, son Franklin D. Allen, 37, Mississippi, and niece, Tracie Edmonson, 49, Racine, all have agreed to plead guilty to fraud charges in federal court.
Between Sep. 2012 and Jan. 2017, court records showed that more than 1,400 packages were shipped from Andis Company to clients who were not official Andis customers. The shipping costs alone totaled more than $12,000, according to court documents. The products themselves totaled approximately $545,000, according to investigators.

According to the media report, Kidd, Allen, and Edmonson each played a part in a scheme that involved taking sales calls from salons and shops in the southern U.S., and either delivering them or shipping them directly from Andis.
Kidd and Edmonson both worked at Andis for more than 20 years, according to Bob Gleason, Andis vice president of human resources.
