TV Dance Competition Saved One of the Best for Last
Franklin native Nick Young danced the quickstep during the first night of live competition on "So You Think You Can Dance."
If you watched "So You Think You Can Dance" on FOX last night and you can't stop smiling, it's no wonder. Nick Young, the young man from Franklin who trained at his mom's Oak Creek dance studio, took on one of the most difficult ballroom dances and, literally, danced circles around it.
Dancing the quickstep, Young was paired with Iveta Lukosiute, a 10-time world champion in ballroom (that means she took the top spot in 10 dances). He wowed the judges and the audience both in the studio and, hopefully, at home, too.
Guest judge Megan Mullally exclaimed, "And you're a tap dancer?!"

Local Patchers had to wait out the nine other couples who comprise the Top 20 to see Young take total command of the stage with near-perfect posture, quick and precise footwork, and really strong partnering skills.
After the show, viewers had two hours to register their vote by either calling, texting or going online. There is no limit to how many times you can vote or which couple(s).

Tonight, June 16, the bottom three couples will face the judges and two dancers will be eliminated. The couples who move on to next week will face new styles, dances, choreographers and the chance to win over America for votes to stay in the competition.
