ESPN is reporting that the free agency obstacle has been cleared. Specifically, first-right-of-refusal clauses on 2011 free agents, which means four years of free agency with no restrictions.
This is the first NFL lockout since 1987 and the preseason is supposed to start in about a month. Most teams would already be in training camp, but until a new collective bargaining agreement is in place, players can't take the field.
