Win Season Tickets For 3 To Case High School Football 2018 Season

The Case High School football team is heading in the right direction and is angling for its first winning season and playoff berth in years.

RACINE, WI — The Racine Case High School football team is looking for its first winning season since 1993, its first playoff berth since 1997, and head coach Bryan Shredl says the team is trending in the right direction.

The Eagles finished 4-5 last year in Shredl's third season, and they're hoping to build on last year's record with a strong offensive line and a young, swarming defense.

"We faced a lot of eight and nine-man fronts last year and teams tried to pack it in against us, so this year, we're going to open it up a little bit."

With sophomore Ben Brawner at quarterback, Colton Coca at tight end and an offensive line that features high-honor roll students across the board, Shredl says he has the look of a smart and experienced offensive unit.

"They're a bright and talented group out there," he told Patch.

On defense, middle linebackers Tay Willis and Chris Fish anchor the middle of the field as cornerback Jayvian Farr - likely the only player on the football field that aspires to be both an orthopedic surgeon and a lawyer after college - takes on the opposing team's best receiving threats.

"When I see something coming, I let myself know what could happen," Farr said of his habit of talking to himself on the field. "I try to predict routes based on certain combinations that I see coming at me based on what the quarterback is doing in the moment and from the film that I watched."

Shredl says the enthusiasm around his team is also building. "It's early in practice and we have 75 kids out here. We also have a great booster club and support system. It's moving in the right direction."
