Wisconsin 64th Assembly District: Tip Wins

On Tuesday, April 2, voters chose Tip McGuire to run on the Democratic ticket for the state's 64th Assembly District race.

RACINE COUNTY, WI -- On Tuesday, April 2, voters chose Tip McGuire as the Democratic candidate who will square off against an already-settled Republican opponent in the 64th State Assembly seat formerly held by Democratic stalwart Peter Barca.

"The people of the 64th Assembly District expect and deserve to have a Representative who will stand up for our shared values, including affordable healthcare, workers rights, criminal justice reform, high quality public schools, and good paying jobs,"McGuire said in a prepared statement.

The seat was vacated when Barca stepped down in January 2019 after Gov. Tony Evers nominated him to be secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.
