Wisconsin Man Picks Up 8th OWI Charge: Police
A search warrant was obtained to seek a blood draw to determine his blood alcohol content for evidence.

MOUNT PLEASANT, — Mount Pleasant police are reporting that they pulled over an intoxicated driver over the weekend after he ran a red light - only to find out that he had seven OWI convictions on his record already.
According to police, on Sunday, Feb. 11 just before 11:30 p.m., Mount Pleasant police conducted a traffic stop on Highway 20 near Oakes Road for the driver of a vehicle that ran through a red light. According to authorities, the driver of the vehicle was Hugo Toscano-Martinez, 48, Racine.
According to police, Toscano-Martinez refused to submit to field sobriety tests. A search warrant was obtained to seek a blood draw to determine his blood alcohol content for evidence. The results of that test are pending review. It was later determined that he was convicted of seven prior OWIs, and had a restriction to not operate with an alcohol level more than 0.02 blood alcohol concentration.
Mount Pleasant police say that Toscano-Martinez was arrested for his OWI 8th offense, running a red light and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. He is currently being held in the Racine County Jail.
