Wisconsin Thanksgiving Travel Forecast: Freezing Rain, Drizzle

MILWAUKEE, WI -- Wisconsin's busiest travel day of the year is coming up this Sunday, and people on the road - or heading to Mitchell International Airport, could run into rain, snow or a combination of both.

The weather could lead to slippery conditions, traffic hazards and flight delays, officials say.

According to the National Weather Service, the area is going to have a 70 percent chance of rain - or snow beginning before 8 a.m. Sunday, and continuing into the evening.

On Thanksgiving, Wisconsin is forecast to see a slight chance of freeing drizzle in the morning into the early afternoon.

A slight chance of freezing drizzle before 1pm, then a slight chance of drizzle between 1pm and 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. South wind around 15 mph.
FridayIncreasing clouds, with a high near 46. South wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Friday Night
Rain, mainly after midnight. Low around 40. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday
A 40 percent chance of rain before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. South wind around 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Saturday Night
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north after midnight.

Sunday
A chance of rain and snow before 8am, then rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Northeast wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Rain before 2am, then rain and snow likely between 2am and 3am, then snow likely after 3am. Low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
