Woman Accused Of Fraud Against Credit Union: Report
Accused of cashing bad checks, she may have also been involved in similar conduct in Greendale and Greenfield, a report said of a complaint.
MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — A Chicago woman has been accused of cashing bad checks at a Landmark Credit Union in Mount Pleasant, according to a Journal Times report.
Tabitha A Phelps, 45, was charged in Racine County Court with fraud against financial institution, four counts of misappropriate ID, and four counts of forgery-uttering, according to online court records.
A fraud specialist for the credit union reported four checks were cashed at the branch between November and December of 2021, according to the Journal Times report citing a criminal complaint. Landmark Credit Union's loss could be $11,400, the report said.

The Journal Times report, citing the criminal complaint, said the woman may have also been involved in similar conduct as well as theft from vehicles in Greendale and Greenfield.
