10 Musical Acts, 3 Trolleys, and an Open House That’s 4 Miles Long

Muskego businesses welcome visitors Friday, August 5, to Jammin' on Janesville. Next stop: Construction.

The last and largest of three festivals offered by Muskego businesses prior to Janesville Road reconstruction will be held this Friday, August 5, from 5-9 pm.

Jammin’ on Janesville will be held again outdoors on a four-mile stretch of Janesville Road from College Avenue on the east all the way to Racine Avenue on the west, organizers said.

True to its name, Jammin’ will now host more than 10 musical performers/bands, along with live radio feeds and dj’s.  It has also expanded to include Regency Senior Community, which will sponsor music by Dick Strauss at the ProHealth Care site at Moorland and Janesville, a Tiki bar at Bush Gardens, a pizza bar by new restaurant Sauced at the DeWinter Eye Care site, a dunk tank and corn roast at the Assist2Sell site on Bay Lane Drive and Janesville Road, a live radio feed at Papa Murphy’s, and many more.

Business is booming since the festivals began in June of 2011, said Denise Konkol, who coordinated the events for the Muskego Chamber of Commerce.

“Businesses have realized a boost in business and are proposing a bigger event for August,” Konkol said. The three-part festival was designed to help Muskego businesses retain customers and attract new ones prior to a massive road reconstruction project that will widen and beautify Janesville Road starting in 2012, according to Konkol.
