Pilot Club Presents Ruth Silver Speaking about Her Book, Invisible: My Journey through Vision and Hearing Loss

Ruth Silver, founder of The Center for Deaf-Blind Persons, is the featured speaker at the Pilot Club of Milwaukee's Business and Program meeting,  at Milwaukee Catholic Home, 2462 N. Prospect Avenue, on Tuesday evening, April 23, - 7:00 p.m.  Her talk is immediately following dinner that is served at 5:45 p.m.    Should you like to attend the dinner and/or presentation, please email: maureen2003a@yahoo.com or call 414-332-1360.  Cost is $20 for dinner.

Mrs. Silver was 16 years old when she was bluntly told she would go blind.  Her book tells how she felt prior to and after the diagnosis and continues  through her life;  how she persevered, attended schools, took on difficult teaching jobs and helped many children along the way.  She tells of her true love, Marvin; their courtship, marriage, and motherhood.

The Center for Deaf Blind Persons is the only agency in Wisconsin specializing in services for persons who are totally deaf and blind or who have varying degrees of dual sensory loss.  The agency’s mission is to provide services needed to minimize the effects of a combined vision and hearing loss upon the individual and family.
