Bosanko Brothers Bring Burn Benefit to Muskego

Starting as a Packer party in someone's backyard, the event has grown over the past 16 years

will be the site for the Bosanko Brothers Packer Party, which is a benefit for the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety (WAFS).  Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for the noon kickoff on Sunday, September 18. It's a fun event that's evolved over the past 16 years to serve a more serious cause.

Each year, children from across the state are admitted into hospital emergency rooms for fire, chemical and scalding burns along with other related fire and burn injuries, according to the WAFS site. The Burn Camp is for youth ages 7-17, and its "is to provide for the unique needs of burn injured youth, while they are having fun, making friends, sharing feeling and developing self-esteem."

Dave Bosanko, one of four brothers (Robbie and Philip live in Wind Lake, Ritchie lives in Bristol) who organize the event is from Mt. Pleasant, has been a firefighter, and said that no matter where the events are held, they draw from across the state.

"Over the years, we've had guys come in from Madison, Sheboygan, Green Bay - it's kind of an event that draws groupies," Bosanko said.

Similar Packer parties are held throughout the state, and as it's not much of a party without outdoor cooking, High Tide will have an outdoor area to accommodate the group.
