CITY MALL: Local Firm LK Marketing Makes Cold Calling Easy
A weekly marketplace for news and reviews on local business topics.

LK Marketing (LKM) makes a claim few sales people can match: They like to make cold calls.
The Muskego company books appointments for sales consultants from all over the country - all day, every day. Liz Kaminski, President, said their approach is decidedly different from other outbound calling firms because “we get to know the sales person we’re calling for.”
Each LKM client is assigned a specific caller who acts like an extension of their team. “It’s like having a ‘virtual’ assistant call ahead and fill the pipeline with leads,” said Kaminski.

Starting her company after 15 years in outside sales, Kaminski now leads a team to save time and boost productivity for sales consultants by doing their cold calling for them. The goal for each call is to “book an appointment and leave the prospect with a positive first impression” of their client.
“Our callers are polite, professional, and sincere,” Kaminski said, adding that prospects they reach never hear “annoying, gimmicky calls that come from an impersonal call center.”

“Our callers are trained to listen, ask questions, identify top decision makers, and get past the gatekeeper,” Kaminski said. Gatekeepers are receptionists or personal assistants who screen calls for their employers.
The new approach to cold calling has paid off for Kaminski's clients. Since LKM was founded in 2000, the company has doubled in size every two years, Kaminski said. They serve a wide range of industries, from IT and marketing consultants to engineering and environmental firms all over the country and in Canada.
Kaminski anticipates opening a new office in Muskego in the next few months.
