CITY MALL: Why Firestone and Fish Fries Go Together this Friday
Food, music and fun are headliners at Firestone's Jammin' on Janesville kick-off party.

An outdoor fish fry and live blues/rock music are just two of the items on the menu this Friday night from 5 to 9 p.m. at Firestone Tire and Auto on Janesville Road in Muskego.
Firestone is partnering with more than 60 other local businesses to help build public awareness of Janesville Road reconstruction and increase customer loyalty before road work begins, said Firestone owner Keith Hammitt.
Work on the road starts in late August of 2011 and will take two years to complete, Hammitt said.

“We want to help people plan and get ready for road construction, because it’s what’s best for the community,” said Hammitt, who is participating in the loyalty marketing program designed by Muskego’s Chamber of Commerce.
Hammitt hopes the evening will raise awareness of – and loyalty to - local businesses, even when reconstruction may make it inconvenient to do so.

With road construction, Hammitt said, “the biggest threat is financial ruin. It’s human nature to go around construction – to go someplace else,” he said. Muskego businesses want to say “we still need your business,” before construction displaces customers or causes them to shift to another provider, Hammitt said.
Activities at the Firestone site this Friday, June 3, include a sit-down fish fry served by Matty’s of New Berlin, blues/rock music by The B-Side Messengers, a display of street rods, a puppet show for kids, AAA driving simulations, participation by Napa Auto and Bumper to Bumper, fresh-popped Sweet Delight Kettle Corn and appearances by the Muskego Hitmen Semi-Pro Football Team.
Firestone is located on Janesville Road one block west of Bay Lane Drive in Muskego.
Other festivities will be held at numerous sites on Janesville Road on the first Friday of each summer month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with free shuttle service between events. For more details Patch readers can visit muskego.org and click on the Jammin’ on Janesville icon.
