Crime Corner: Signs of Spring Evident on Lake, in Pranks

Ding dong ditch makes a return, along with a renewed warning about the lakes' melting ice.

A spring thaw has also brought a few incidents of youth pranks as well as a call for help for an ATV that went through the ice on Big Muskego. The Muskego neighborhood watch report for the past week also includes these incidents:

February 25, 2011  

  • Several neighborhood boys in the W20800 block of Valerie Dr. were warned about "Ding Dong Ditching” during the early evening hours.

  • The employees at Denoon Saloon called asking for assistance with an unruly patron.  A 37 year old Waterford woman was arrested on  a  charge of Disorderly Conduct and taken to Waukesha County Jail
  • Shortly before 4:00am, a resident in the W12900 block of Tess Corners Dr. called to report his mailbox had been struck by a vehicle, which was now stuck in the ditch.  Officers found the vehicle unoccupied and it was towed.  A 30 year old Wind Lake woman who had been driving the vehicle contacted the police department and reported she had lost control of the her car when she struck a mound of snow.
  • Around 7:30am, a New Berlin man called to report his ATV went through the ice on Big Muskego Lake.  There were no injuries and the ATV was removed.  
  • A rollover accident near Racine Ave. and Parker Dr. around 7:15pm resulted in a 34 year old  St. Francis man being arrested for drunk driving.  There were no injuries.

February 27, 2011  

  • Three seventeen year old Muskego boys were warned regarding firing a cap gun in the parking lot of Wal-Mart around 12:30am.

  • A vehicle in the S6300 block of Coleridge Ct. was damaged, possibly by placing sugar in the gas tank.  The investigation is ongoing, with the possible suspects known by the victim.
