Crime Corner: Theft, Drunken Driving and Drugs

Man steals check, alters it, then asks teen daughter to cash it. Also, drunk driver asks police for directions.

The following is a brief summary of calls to the  for Friday, Sept. 30, through Friday, Oct. 7.

Car egging: A car parked at a residence in the S6300 block of Tess Corners Drive was egged Friday, Sept. 30.

Suspicious behavior? A citizen reported a subject with a GPS unit acting suspicious at the Engel Conservancy Friday, Sept. 30. Investigation found that the subjects were geocaching.

Fight: Police received a report Saturday, Oct. 1, of an altercation at Schmidt’s Refuge. Subjects were gone upon officers arrival, but were contacted and advised they were no longer welcome at the establishment.

Thefts

  • A 41-year-old Muskego man was charged with theft after he stole a check from a medical facility, altered it and had his 14-year-old stepdaughter attempt to cash it Saturday, Oct. 1.
  • Terra Firma Landscape reported the theft of forklifts from their facility on Janesville Road Friday, Oct. 7.

Drunken driving

  • A 32-year-old Muskego woman was arrested for her second drunk driving offense on Pioneer Drive near the police department Sunday, Oct. 2.
  • A 20-year-old Brookfield man was arrested for drunk driving after being involved in an accident in the parking lot at Arby’s Sunday, Oct. 2.
  • A 28-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunk driving after she pulled up to a squad car parked in Salentine’s lot to ask the officer for directions to the airport Monday, Oct. 3.
  • An 18-year-old Howard man was arrested for drunk driving after officers investigating a reckless driving complaint in the area of College Avenue and College Court found a vehicle in the ditch Monday, Oct. 3.

Operating under the influence: A 19-year-old West Milwaukee man was arrested Saturday, Oct. 1, on STH 36 at Thode Drive for operating under the influence of a controlled substance. A 19-year-old West Allis man in the car was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and underage possession of alcohol.

Possession of a controlled substance: Neighbors called about a car parked across the road on Holz Drive Sunday, Oct. 2. The investigation led to the arrest of the 17-year-old Muskego man who had been operating the vehicle for possession of a controlled substance.

Stolen license: A license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked in the S8300 block of Walter Hagen Drive Sunday, Oct. 2.

No fans allowed: A 38-year-old Waukesha man was advised Monday, Oct. 3, that it is against DNR regulations to operate a fan boat on Big Muskego Lake from September 1 to November 30.

Car hit and run: A gray Ford Fusion was hit by another car Monday, Oct. 3, in a hit-and-run accident around 7:30 p.m. while parked at Pick N Save. The striking vehicle may have been white.

Mailbox damaged: Farm workers were advised that their tractor damaged a mailbox in the W17800 block of Woods Road Friday, Oct. 7.

Broken car window: The rear window of a maroon and silver Chevy Suburban was shattered while the driver was attending classes at Muskego High School Friday, Oct. 7.

In incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
