Crime Corner: Vandalism a Frequent Occurence in Past Two Weeks

Many perpetrator are juvenilles; is it time to go back to school yet?

Back from a busy two weeks at the a portion of Lieutenant Dave Constantineau's neighborhood watch report underscores vandalism and theft, including these incidents.
Friday, August 5 – Jill’s Cleaners on Parkland Dr. reported acts of vandalism, occurring over the previous two nights.

Sunday, August 7 – Someone attempted to enter a residence in the S9400 block of Boxhorn Dr.  Nothing was taken.

Monday, August 8 –

  • A person in the W14200 block of Groveway Lane reported a male/white subject, approximately 20 years old, with collar length brown hair, wearing a brown sleeveless t-shirt, black and white tennis shoes and glasses, trespassing in the neighbor’s garage/barn.  The area was checked, but officers did not locate the subject.
  • Shortly before midnight, a resident in the W19100 block of Richdorf Dr. reported she believed someone had entered her residence without permission; however, there were no signs of entry and nothing was taken.  Approximately 1 hour later, officers located two 15 year old Muskego boys in the area.  Both were charged with curfew violations, and one of them was charged with possession of burglary tools.  The second was charged with Criminal Damage to St. Leonard’s School, which was reported on August 3rd.

Tuesday, August 9 –

  • A residence in the S7700 block of Prospect Dr. was vandalized.
  • Cars in the W19600 block of Sanctuary Dr. were egged.
  • At around 3:30am, an officer observed a subject lying in the roadway in the S7500 block of Lannon Dr.  When the officer approached the subject, he tried to run away.  The officer caught him and the 14 year old Muskego boy was cited for a curfew violation.

Wednesday, August 10 – Homes and cars on Sherwood Cir., Gold Dr., Woodberry Lane, and Briargate Lane were toilet papered and egged.  In addition, a dirty diaper was thrown on a patio on Briargate Lane, and solar lights on Hillview Dr. were thrown in the ditch.

Thursday, August 11 – Employees at Leaps and Bounds Childcare reported thefts from several employees over the course of several weeks.  An additional theft was reported on August 17th.

Friday, August 12 – A package delivered to W19500 Apollo Dr. was stolen from the front step.

Sunday, August 14 – A 14 year old Muskego boy was arrested for theft from a residence in the S6800 block of Chamberlain Hills Dr.

Monday, August 15 –

  • A home in the S8100 block of Edward Ct. was toilet papered overnight.
  • Wesco Machining on Enterprise Dr. reported that the business was burglarized overnight.
  • A trampoline was stolen from a yard in the W18400 block of Dean Ct.
  • A large “Donkey Statue” was recovered in a yard in the area of Racine Ave. and Cardinal Dr.

Tuesday, August 16 –

  • A bicycle was stolen from a garage in the S10900 block of Racine Ave sometime in the past week.
  • A caller reported subjects operating an ATV in the marsh area off Woods Rd.  The operators subsequently fled the area and were picked up by a car on Jean Dr.  Officers found the vehicle at a residence on Woods Rd.  A 17 year old Hartland girl received an underage alcohol referral, while an 18 year old Wind Lake man and 16 year old Muskego boy were cited for underage drinking.

Wednesday, August 17 – Several Muskego teens were caught toilet papering Idle Isle Park.  They were turned over to their parents, and cleaned up the mess.
