It's an old-fashioned event like those held in small towns in the 19th and early 20th centuries and will include music, games and a centerpiece "through the ages" parade that will wind around the 1870s Crossroads Village.
The band concert will be performed by the Harmony Cornet Band, which comes together only once a year to play at this event. Using historic instruments from the late 19th century, the band will perform throughout the day. Their repertoire will include "The Doxology," which was played by the U.S. Marine Band at the dedication of the National Cemetery in Gettysburg just prior to President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address on Nov. 19, 1863.Β
