Football Guide: Big Game for Muskego Warriors on Friday

Muskego, Kenosha Bradford both state-ranked, undefeated and will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable this Friday as a key match up.

Southeast Conference supremacy will be on the line when the Muskego Warriors football team hosts Kenosha Bradford in a battle between unbeatens 7 p.m. Friday at 's InPro Stadium.

The game will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable Sports32, WLIP-AM 1050 (Kenosha), and over the Internet at wlip.com and Gatewaysportsweb.org.

Here is a closer look at the 2011 Warriors:

Last week: The Warriors (7-0, 5-0 SEC) pulled away from host Racine Case in the fourth quarter for a 35-7 victory, while Bradford (7-0, 5-0) breezed to a 49-14 victory over visiting Racine Horlick.

Recent history: The scoreboard was put to the test in last year’s meeting as Bradford scored a 69-44 victory. Jordan Gruettner rushed for a game-high 254 yards for Muskego. The Warriors have lost the last five meetings with the Red Devils since winning 32-7 in 2005.

FYI: Muskego fell behind 7-0 to Racine Case 26 seconds into last week’s contest, but scored 35 unanswered points. … Brady Simkowski rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns and Roland Dunlap rushed for 118 yards and one TD. … Jim Mock caught a 10-yard pass from Eric Pachowitz in the first quarter and Ryan Rantala returned an interception 38 yards in the fourth quarter for the other TDs. … Josh Breider also recorded an interception. … Simkowski needs seven yards to reach the 1,000-yard mark for the season. … Muskego has a 10-game regular-season winning streak dating back to last season.

Quoteworthy: With 32 seniors on the roster, the experienced Warriors have no shortage of leaders going into their biggest game of the season.

“I am very proud of our leadership on our football team,” Muskego coach Ken Krause said. “On offense, our quarterback Eric Pachowitz has been a tremendous leader with his faking and timely passes. On defense, Tommy Stark and Jordan Gruettner have played as the best linebacking duo in the state.”
