Four Muskego Wrestlers Move on to State Semi-Finals

The Warriors are making a strong showing in Madison.

Muskego High School wrestling had a good first night at the state meet in Madison. Four of the five young men who qualified to wrestle this weekend will move on to the semi-finals tonight, Feb. 25. See live streaming of matches and get up-to-the-minute results here.

Austin Quartullo, a freshman in the 103-pound weight class, won his first round match against Jeff Kleser from Menomonee Falls with a technical fall. He couldn't hold down a win, though, in his quarterfinal match against Bill Prochniewski from Waukesha South.

Still, Coach Sean Fortmann said Austin had a smile on his face.

"Austin is a freshman and he's doing well. I saw him in the hall (of the hotel) just a few minutes ago, and he was smiling," Fortmann said after the first two rounds on Thurs., Feb 24. "He'll come back strong for his meet on Friday." If Austin pulls out a win, he will take 3rd place.

As for how the other boys are doing, Fortmann said they're looking forward to the next matches.
