Hales Corners Mom Business Grows & Gives Back to Healing Hailey

Entrepreneur and mom from the Midwest Kelley Legler created a product perfect for babies and became the #1 competitor to one of the biggest baby brands in the US. With her unique design of sewn shut ribbon tabs accenting silky soft satin and plush textured minky backing she continues to create comfort for little ones while employing other moms with a creative outlet.

Fired from her Milwaukee Marketing job after having her son in 2009, Kelley Legler needed an outlet to escape the everyday chaos of being a new and stay at home mom. "I am a high-energy kind of girl with a lot of motivation" said Legler, "I need to keep busy and continue educating myself and trying out new things".  Legler's mother taught her how to sew and months later, Kelley and her mother in law created a business plan and launched Baby Jack Blankets.

Baby Jack Blankets creates sensory ribbon tab blankets for little ones.. The ribbons are hand sewn shut into TABS to prevent tiny fingers from getting intertwined, other items on the market have loops and for security purposes they secure all ribbons into TABS by hand. Their products are all about senses - vibrant colors, an assortment of textures in ribbons. Did we mention that these are handmade creations?  No mass production, just a bunch of moms and grandmothers that enjoy what they do. "Sewing literally saved my sanity," says Legler "If I can offer the same opportunity to other moms and women who need an outlet as I did, I will. We pride ourselves in our handmade blankets and are excited to watch our little business grow."

Their products can be found online at her self created website www.babyjackblankets.com, in boutiques throughout the US, Amazon.com, Yoyo.com, Zoos, Hospitals ,Harley Davidson Dealerships and Botanical Gardens.  Her products have been in the hands of celebrities like Guiliana Rancic, Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson and Molly Mesnick.  Baby Jack Blankets continues to grow after only 2 years of selling online. Facebook kick started the need for these creations and Legler has created a niche for moms and babies to customize baby's first and forever blanket.

A % of every sale is donated to local Milwaukee charity Healing Hailey - 5 year old Hailey Roser who is battling a rare form of childhood brain cancer AT/RT. Kelley donated her marketing expertise to assist with creating the www.HealingHailey.org website and manage the Facebook fan page of 43,000 fans. Legler vows that as baby Jack blankets grows, the more awareness is spread for Healing Hailey.  Hailey Roser recently met Justin Bieber at a Milwaukee concert after a twitter compaign and TMZ spotlight
