Man Faces Charges After April Bar Fight at Mug-Z's

A 49-year-old Muskego man is facing charges after he allegedly hit another man in the head several times with a beer bottle during a bar fight at .
Michael J. Schultz was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of substantial battery and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, he faces up to three years and nine months in prison, and $11,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, on April 16, the victim and his girlfriend went to the bar and recognized Schultz and his girlfriend when they entered the bar. While walking in, the victim said Schultz tried to hit him with his elbow in the face, which caused the two to exchange words, but the incident soon ended.

The victim’s girlfriend later went outside to smoke a cigarette, and while returning, Schultz’s girlfriend got in front of her and the two exchanged words. The victim got between the two to try and break up the fight and Schultz then hit him multiple times in the head with a beer bottle, causing two lacerations on his head.
While being hit on the head by Schultz, his girlfriend then tackled the victim’s girlfriend and caused her to strike her head on the corner of the wall.

Schultz will make his initial appearance in court July 27.
