More Than Just Ponza Rottas at Jimmy's Grotto

Waukesha's legendaryΒ Jimmy’s GrottoΒ restaurant has been know for decades for its popular Ponza Rottas, aΒ pastie that consists of tomato sauce, Ricotta cheese and other fillingsΒ in a light crust. But the restaurant just announced that it is expanding its menu to include fried pickle chips, chili dogs, nacho dog and nacho cheese fries. Wingstop Opens on Good Hope Road

Wingstop, the award-winning chicken wing chain has opened its third Milwaukee-area restaurant at 7335 W. Good Hope Road. This will be the largest Wingstop in the Milwaukee area, with more seating and high-definition TVs than the restaurants in Glendale and West Milwaukee.Β The menu features classic and boneless wings made fresh to order in 10 flavors including lemon pepper andΒ garlic parmesan. Sides are made fresh daily including hand-cut seasoned fries, baked beans andΒ house made ranch and blue cheese dips.

New Organic Food Store in Racine County

Friendly’s Organic MarketΒ opened last week in Caledonia. Owners Megan Wickert and Heather Erickson used to operate a produce stand on Four Mile Road. The new storeΒ features locally grown and organic produce, grass-fed beef, homemade dog treats, trinkets made by local artists, and crocheted items. Read more on Caledonia Patch.

Remodeled Sendik's Ready for Prime Time

After extensive remodeling, a renovated Sendik's store is expected to open onΒ Brown Deer and Port Washington road in Bayside. The "red bag" Sendik's family took over the store more than a year ago. Read more on Fox Point-Bayside Patch.

A Big Deal in West Allis

Big Deal Burgers & CustardΒ opened its doors this summer near State Fair Park in West Allis, the Journal Sentinel reports. Co-owner Tim Kruschel told the newspaper thatΒ the menu’s focus is on Angus beef burgers served on rolls from Peter Sciortino’s Bakery, and frozen custard in daily flavors and specialty sundaes. The spot previously was Cream City Custard and Grecian Delight Gyros. Read more at JSOnline.

Port Washington Restaurant Has New Look

After being closed for nearly aΒ year, a Port Washington restaurant is back β€” with a simpler menu and limited hours.Β Victor's Pier Street ShantyΒ is now open for dinner.Β Owner Victor Cerda has kept the lakeside restaurant closed since October 2012 while he worked to reinvent it withΒ a new, simpler menu. Β The new menu will be very basic, offering simply sandwiches served in paper boats - but the concept will be ever evolving and the sandwiches will soon prove themselves unique.
