Muskego Athletes Sign On to College Teams

Four MHS seniors to play football in college

After graduation in June, four Muskego High School seniors will be playing college football in fall.Β

Adam Schulz, who was a quarterback on the MHS team Β will be attending the University of Utah. He will be a preferred walk-on for their Division 1 football program. Β According to MHS coach Ken Krause, the position will allow Schulz the eventual opportunity to play, versus basic 'walk-on' players, who basically have to try out to be on the team and practice.

Brett Presnal is a kicker and will join the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in fall, and Connor Anderson, who played as a tight end, begins in fall at Concordia University in Chicago. Β John Pastorek plays defensive back, and will play on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's team. Β While invited to play at these schools, which are Division 3, scholarships cannot be offered to athletes.

The honors this year add to the growing prestige of the Muskego athletic program, which in turn Krause said has been key for many students in gaining opportunties after high school.

"It's about getting kids to get the most out of being a part of a team, and what they can gain from sports beyond the physical competition," he said.

"We now have nine players playing college football from our past three teams," Krause said. "We also have three Division 1 players who are a part of that group."

Previously, Kyle Costigan signed on with the University of Wisconsin Badgers as a Β defensive tackle; Mike Famiglietti joined Western Michigan as a long snapper.
