Muskego Festival Etiquette is Simple: Have Fun, but Behave

Muskego Police issue statement on next weekend's festivities to keep them a truly community event.

The Muskego Festival will again return next weekend, and while Thursday night is a family night where no alcohol is served on the grounds, are reminding patrons that every day is family day.

"When you are having a good time, let’s remember that this is a community family event, and behave accordingly," said Lt. Dave Constantineau.

"Old County Stadium used to have “The Two Fisted Slopper” that would ruin everyone’s fun.  Sometimes our festival can have the same problem," he added.

While beer is served at the festival, Constantineau reminded residents that the atmosphere is different than a tavern.

"There are children around.  Watch your language.  In fact, if you are coming to the festival intent on being the “Slopper”, stay away, we don’t want you," he warned.  MPD is planning on a strong uniformed presence at the festival, whose primary function will be to ensure that the family atmosphere is maintained.

"We will remove anyone who does not abide by that," Constantineau added.

In addition, it should be noted that no bicycles or pets are allowed on the festival grounds.

"We aren’t here to ruin anyone’s fun, on the contrary, we want to make sure everyone’s festival experience is a positive one," he said.

At the festival parade, Sunday August 28, officers will also be on hand for traffic control as well as to hand out Brewers baseball cards. The police motorcycle that Harley-Davidson has loaned the department for the parade will be the lead vehicle as well.
