Muskego Man Charged After Officers Thought He Was Going for a Weapon
Complaint alleges suspect has a history of barricading himself in the upstairs of his house and threatening to use a firearm.

A 24-year-old Muskego man is facing charges after he resisted arrest when officers thought he was going for a weapon in his room.
Adam L. Michaels was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of obstructing an officer and one count of disorderly conduct for trying to flee and officer in his home. If convicted, he faces up to one year in prison and $11,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, on Jan. 24 officers were called to the residence after Michaels got into an argument with his mother. An officer told him he should leave the residence, which caused him to get agitated and tell the officer his mother should be the one to go.

Michaels then began walking upstairs in the residence while continuing his protest of having to leave and when an officer told him to stop he then proceeded to run up the steps. The complaint states the officer was concerned Michaels was going for a firearm as he had barricaded himself and threatened the use of a weapon in the past.
The officer went after Michaels and was able to grab onto his ankles at the top of the stairs, which caused Michaels to fall and strike his mouth on the bathroom floor. The complaint states Michaels continued to scream and protest his arrest.
