At 1:01 a.m. Saturday, a Muskego police officer was travelling eastbound on Woods Road behind Mommaerts, who was swerving from side to side in the lane. He then tried to pull Mommaerts over, who didn’t stop until he reached a driveway near Ladwig Drive.

Mommaerts told the officer he had been drinking at a friend’s house earlier in the night. Began taking field sobriety tests, but stopped after failing the first, saying he wanted to call his wife to inform him of his current situation.

After the officer said no, Mommaerts said he didn’t want to do anymore tests and was arrested for drunk driving.

Mommaerts was previously convicted of OWI in 2000, 2005 and twice in 2007. He’s currently free on $1,500 bond while awaiting trial.
