Muskego Man Charged With Trying to Steal Wire From We Energies Wire
Suspect jumped a fence at a West Allis We Energies facility and tried to steal wire from the back of a truck.

A 29-year-old Muskego man is facing charges after he was caught trying to steal wire from a We Energies facility in West Allis.
Jeremy J. Kurer was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of attempted theft. If convicted, he faces up to 4 ½ months in jail and $5,000 in fines.

On Saturday, a West Allis police officer on patrol in the 500 block of South 116th Street saw Kurer inside of a fenced in area of a We Energies facility and removing metal from the back of an open truck. A bolt cutters was sitting next to the truck, which didn’t belong to We Energies.
Kurer told the officer he hopped over the fence and was looking for metal. The metal wire he attempted to steal was valued at between $175 and $250.

He was assigned a $250 signature bond Wednesday.
