Muskego Police Officer Retires After 24 Years On the Force

Esser retires, but leaves a legacy in Waukesha as his son currently serves on the force

Lt. Andrew Kraus with the Muskego Police Department announced that Officer Tim Esser had his last day on duty Thursday, July 14.

Esser, whose son Brady is a four-year veteran with the Waukesha Police Department, had been a member of the Muskego police department since January of 1987.  During his time with MPD, he served as a field training officer and had also been assigned to the Waukesha County Metro Drug Unit.

"Tim was my training officer when I first started here," Lt. Kraus said. "I also rode with him many times as a college intern.  I can say without a doubt that I still carry with me many of the lessons I learned from him.

"Tim had a positive impact on Muskego during the time he served here.  He had been the senior officer on second shift and could be counted on to share his experience with the younger officers.  He has a good sense of humor that he would often use to lighten our roll calls.  The Muskego Police Department will miss him, and wish him luck in his endeavors after retirement."
