Muskego Police Receive D.A.R.E. Donation
Cudahy fishermen donate for the second year in a row to the drug education program.

The Muskego Police Department D.A.R.E program accepted a $350 donation from the Cudahy Sucker Fishing Club. This is the second year that the club has made a donation to the program that teaches kids how to resist the temptation of drugs and alcohol.
"The Cudahy Sucker Fishing Club was formed over 40 years ago by a group of dedicated fishermen looking to have a great time fishing while at the same time giving something back to the community," Lt. David Constantineau said in a release. "Over the years, their annual ice-fishing jamboree on Big Muskego Lake has allowed them to donate to many worthy causes, including The Ronald McDonald House, Project Concern, the Cudahy Baseball Booster Club, and the Pishtaka Wildlife Society youth hunter safety program."
Through the D.A.R.E. program, Muskego Police officers have gone into grade schools throughout Muskego, public and private, and taught fifth-grade children how to make smart personal decisions. The ten-week curriculum includes applying the D.A.R.E. decision-making model to authentic situations related to tobacco, alcohol and drug use.

The program has been in place in Muskego since 1991, and has helped children define the qualities of positive friendships, and respond confidently and responsibly in the face of peer pressure.
"The Muskego Police Department is honored that the Cudahy Sucker Fishing Club chose to invest in Muskego’s future for the second year in a row. The money will go towards classroom materials and other D.A.R.E. related costs associated with putting on the program," Lt. Constantineau explained.
