Muskego Students Receive AP Honors

Sixty-six students at l have earned advanced placement (AP) Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams, according to a release from Muskego-Norway Schools.

Students who take classes within the AP program can earn college credits if they take the college-level courses, and then post high enough scores on the exam.  These students from MHS represent a part of about 18 percent of the 1.6 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP Exams. At MHS:

• 4 students qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of 4 or higher on a 5-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. 
• 25 students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
• 15 students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.   
• 26 students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams, with scores of 3 or higher. 
• Of this year’s award recipients at Muskego High School, 15 are sophomores or juniors. These students have at least one more year in which to complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.
