On March 11, a Muskego police officer was monitoring traffic in the W13500 block of Janesville Road when he spotted Klappa doing 56 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour speed zone. The officer got behind Klappa and tried to pull her over, but she continued to drive.
The officer then turned on his emergency siren, but Klappa still continued driving. The officer then turned on his spotlight in order to get Klappa’s attention, however, the officer spotted her readjusting her rearview mirror to avoid the light.

The officer assumed Klappa was trying to get home without pulling over, so he called for other squads to set a roadblock near Janesville Road and Lions Park Road near Klappa’s home. She stopped once she reached the roadblock.
Klappa smelled of alcohol and told the officer she didn’t see the officer behind her. When asked why she adjusted her mirror when he put on his spotlight, Klappa said she thought it was someone flashing their brights.
Klappa had a blood alcohol level on 0.28, which is more than three times the legal limit to drive in Wisconsin.
She’s free on a $1,500 signature bond while awaiting trial.
