Muskego's Bay Lane Middle School One of Wisconsin's Best
Bay Lane receives honor from Association of Wisconsin School Administrators, which cites high marks in reading as reason for award.

was named as an Exemplary Middle School by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators.
In a letter to Superintendent Dr. Joe Schroeder, AWSA said, "we applaud the leadership skills that you and the principal of this school have demonstrated," and that the school was being recognized for achieving reading scores in the top ten percent.
In a week or two where the district has had to deal with bad news - a parent volunteer who was arrested for sexual assault and an - the announcement was welcome. It was also more indicative of the work that has been going on in the schools and throughout the district of late.

The award will allow Bay Lane to apply for the Middle School of Excellence Award, given to a large, medium, small, and high-poverty school in the state. A panel of judges, including middle school principals and a representative from the Department of Public Instruction, judge the applications.
