Muskego's 'Night Out' Promises Fun, Safety & Information
Plans for annual community event on August 4 are set and just need you to attend and enjoy.

Summer isn't slowing down anytime soon if the heat is any indication and the events keep on coming as well.
Muskego’s National Night Out is next Thursday, August 4, from 5pm to 9pm, at Veteran’s Memorial Park, across from City Hall and next to the Police Department. Organizers are promising a great evening of informational displays and demonstrations, along with a little entertainment as well.
"This year we will have a lot of great displays, including the National Guard, ATF, DEA, the U.S. Coast Guard, Waukesha County Sheriff K-9, as well as Muskego Police Tactical Unit, Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch, Citizen’s Academy and Explorers," explained Lt. Dave Constantineau of Muskego Police Department.

In addition, Tess Corners Fire Department will be providing numerous demonstrations, and Flight For Life is scheduled to appear.
For lighter entertainment, "the Gleason’s will be providing the entertainment again this year, and if you haven’t heard them you are missing something," Constantineau said. "We will also have a bounce house for the kids, and we will end the night with a glow stick walk as a symbol community unity.

The Muskego Lion’s Club will also be having their annual free bike raffle that evening, and will be fitting and giving away bike helmets while supplies last. Raffles will also be held for other prizes, and kids attending will get a free t-shirt, while supplies last.
Donations are also being sought, as the Lions Club will be collecting used eye glasses, and there will be a place for you to donate food to the Muskego Food Pantry. MPD will also be collecting old cell phones to give to people in need.
Constantineau said that proceeds from National Night Out go to help safety education programs such as Neighborhood Watch, DARE, and Kid ID. This year speed warning signs are also being purchased, which will not only warn people when they are speeding, but will be able to collect traffic data as well. There will be one on display that evening for residents to see.
