Police Explorer In Need of Assistance

Police Explorer Posts exist throughout the state, and Muskego police have supported their own. However a recent loss to a fellow post member in Kenosha has local police lieutenant asking for your support.

(Editor's note: this appeal comes from Muskego Police Lt. Dave Constantineau, who is an avid supporter of the Police Explorers program, which teaches youth about law enforcement skills and tactics.)

As many of you know, I am active with Law Enforcement Exploring, not just in Muskego, but throughout the state of Wisconsin. As a result, I have become acquainted with many outstanding young men and women interested in a career in law enforcement and serving their communities. One of these young people is Cory Brennan, an explorer with the Kenosha County Sheriff.

Cory has had every reason in this world to fail. An abusive father who left the family when he was an infant and an unstable mother led to a chaotic upbringing for him. Despite this, Cory has served Kenosha County with distinction as an explorer, graduating high school, and putting himself through college. He is on track to graduate from UW-Parkside in December, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in three years. Upon graduation, he will fulfill his dream of serving his country by entering the U.S. Army to begin training as a Ranger. Everything was going well for Cory, until last Saturday, when his whole world came crashing down on him.

Cory’s mother chose to take her own life, and suddenly this young man is all alone, wondering where he will find the money to bury his own mother, let alone cover the costs involved in everyday life, a mountain of debt, and his college tuition.

Fortunately, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has stepped to the plate, and is trying to help Cory. They have set up an account for donations for those who want to help Cory. The law enforcement community, as well as exploring around the state is stepping up too, determined to make sure Cory knows he is not alone. If you are able to help Cory, I know he would be grateful, and I cannot think of a more worthy cause. To help, send your donations to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, C/O Cory Brennan, 1000 55th Street, Kenosha, WI 53140. Make checks payable to Cory Brennan. On behalf of Cory, law enforcement, and exploring, I thank you for your support.
