Police Warn of Increased Theft as Weather Warms
More people out and about can mean property becomes more vulnerable, advises Muskego Police Department.

Several incidents of theft were reported this past week, prompting a warning from police about locking your car, valuables and in general being more vigilant.
April 25, 2011 – Prescription medications were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the W17700 block of Wildwood Drive. In the same evening a report of damage and theft of solar landscape lights from a lawn in the S6600 block of Agate Drive.

A subject reported the theft of an iPod and GPS unit from an unlocked, black Plymouth 2-door vehicle parked in the S7700 block of Kristin Drive around 2:45 a.m.
A GPS unit was taken as well from an unlocked, black Honda Pilot while parked at a residence in the S7800 block of Kelly Drive.

Finally, in the same evening, several electronics items were stolen from a silver Oldsmobile Alero parked at a residence in the S7800 block of Canfield Dr.
Lt. David Constantineau with Muskego Police stated, "it is getting warmer, which means people are going to be out and about, and if you want to keep your stuff, you better keep an eye on it and lock it up."
While residents find Muskego a hospitable 'bedroom community, Constantineau reiterated the need to lock your vehicles even if they are parked in your driveway.
"Spring is here, and with it comes the 'car shoppers' - while our officers are good, they can’t be everywhere at once," he said.
