Shogren Attempts Resolution with Prosecutors

Muskego man accused of stabbing wife scheduled to appear in court again July 21.

Attempted homicide suspect Mark Shogren is trying to reach a resolution to his case with prosecutors.

Shogren’s attorney Gerald Boyle told Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Bill Domina Monday he’s attempting to reach a resolution with the district attorney’s office on the charges that Shogren stabbed his wife and left her for dead.

Shogren was arrested in March after he stabbed his wife while she went to get a drink in the kitchen and they had been watching movies all afternoon. Although the couple hadn’t been fighting prior to the incident, the criminal complaint states they had made snide remarks about the relationships of the characters in the movies and how the compared to their own relationship.

Shogren’s wife, who had been stabbed multiple times in the back, was able to escape their house and seek help from a neighbor. A brief standoff then took place between Shogren and police.

Shogren is scheduled to appear in court again July 21. He’s currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $50,000 cash bond.
