Shogren preliminary hearing scheduled for April 15

Stabbing suspect waives time limits on hearing

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 15 in the case of a Muskego man charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide.

Mark T. Shogren, 51, waived his preliminary time limits to have a preliminary hearing in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday on charges he tried to kill his wife by stabbing her after a night of watching movies and drinking.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 5 Shogren allegedly stabbed his wife Gloria after the two had been watching movies and making snide remarks about their relationship and how it compared to those in the movies.

The complaint states his wife told investigators they hadn’t been fighting prior to the stabbing incident, but when she went to get a drink in the kitchen he stabbed her.

The complaint alleges Shogren didn’t attempt to call for medical attention after his wife was stabbed. A neighbor eventually called authorities when Gloria arrived at their residence, and they discovered her bleeding.

Shogren is currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $50,000 cash bond. His attorney Gerald Boyle said he may address bail modification at the preliminary hearing.
