Shredding Event Highlights Privacy, Introduces New Bank
North Shore Bank holds a grand opening along with its annual shredding event to underscore importance of protecting privacy.
Combining a grand opening to introduce itself to the community along with its regular community shredding event, North Shore Bank, which took over for Maritime Savings at the corner of Janesville Road and Lannon Drive, was active with food and family activities on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
'Shred It' is held twice every year by North Shore Bank, with the serious purpose of guarding against identity theft and safely disposing of old documents that contain personal information.
“This is the perfect time of year to do some spring cleaning and properly dispose of old or outdated personal documents that were simply stuffed in a box, desk drawer, or file” said Peggy Theisen, security officer for North Shore Bank. “Unfortunately, we’ve seen the consequences of identity theft when people simply toss their important papers out with the trash, and Shredding Day is a great opportunity to avoid that hardship. Protecting your child’s identity is just as important as protecting your own identity.”
